I've stayed in the Malrdon a few times, mainly for rugby weekends. It has great rates if you book in advance. Stayed there for €59 per night (no breakfast). It's €10 a head for breakfast which is pretty good. Cooked breakfast as well as cereals, toast, juices etc. Great selection. The bar food is really good as well and the bar area is nice to sit in for a while for a few drinks etc. Nice and friendly staff at reception as well as in the bar/restaurant. The rooms are pretty big and on my most recent trip it had a huge king size bed. The bathroom is clean as well as the room. For the price, you can't go wrong. The hotel has a leisure centre/gym as well, but I haven't used. I've been told it is good though from friends that have used it. The hotel is only a few years old, so it is nicely finished throughout with modern decor. Free underground secure parking also included. Close to the hotel there is also a nicely stocked off-license, subway outlet, Aldi, Supermacs, Tesco, Topaz etc, so quite handy for anything you might need during your stay.
The only negative for me was the bath/shower. It was a bit too narrow so the shower curtain would stick to you sometimes when in the shower. Other than that, no complaints.
I thought the decor was really new-looking and the hotel looked really well and extremely clean. I found the staff very friendly and helpful also
As I didn't know Limerick city very well, I found the hotel very difficult to find. However, I did print off the directions from the directions provided by booking .com and they were difficult to follow and slightly incorrect. A garda helped us in the end to find the hotel
Nothing, will never stay in a Maldron Hotel again and will advise others not to
Staff were rude Non smoking rooms smelt of smoke
Was attending the Mini Munster Dancing competition in Limerick at week-end. Booked the Maldron as the price was good value & had free cancellation on line. The hotel was lovely clean & very friendly staff. Had the set meal from the bar food menu & that was excellent quality & value for money along with huge portions.Great stay & would return again. Swimming pool was great & again lovely staff there.
Not sure about the location/area of the City we stayed in????
Comfortable and cheap, close to business commitments
Unpleasant area of town, no restaurant apart from breakfast, poor food choice. Not a good ambassador for the Maldron brand - nothing like the other Maldrons I have stayed in
The rooms were of a good size and had great facilities such as trouser press ironing board and iron, tea and coffee facilities etc which you do not get in a lot of hotels. Room service was really good. Food facilities were great. Leisure facilities were a bonus as well.
Rang hotel 3 times no one answered left my no and nobody got back to me at all very bad service.
Clean, newlook, friendly by all staff young and old.
Worn stairway carpet makes the hotel look shabby which it contradicts the rest of the hotel
nothing average hotel nothing special
I stayed at the Maldron for 2 nights, on arriving into the hotel after working till 9.30pm I asked at the near empty bar could I get a toasted sandwich and tea only to be told no they only make cold sandwiches. My second evening I went to the dinning room for dinner and was told only groups are allowed in here and I would have to dine in the bistro which is the bar again. Was not made feel welcome and the staff were not friendly and helpful to you. Will not be visiting again.
The hotel was keenly priced and is in a good location for roads and city centre.
The pool and leisure facilities were fab and the people using them were friendly. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
The carpet on the stairs needed replacing in places.
the bed was uncomfortable as two single beds joined together, other than that everything else was good.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable, well presented and everything worked. We particularly liked the leisure centre and the food served in the Bistro.
bar staff r always grumpy very rude
The Staff! No matter how many times I stay at the Maldron I always find the staff to be chatty helpful and interested in what they are doing-not always the case in the hotel world! The facilities are excellent and just a handy all round nice spot to spend time in : )
